My polar finder not illuminated, I took advantage of the partial dismantling of the frame to set up a lighting system.
The etched glass is too thin to receive side lighting (as with reticulated eyepieces).
The solution is to create a 'light atmosphere' in the right ascension axis, the interior of which has been painted with aluminum paint.
A 2.5 mm jack plug has been mounted on the side of the axle, and five red LEDs arranged in a circle inside will take care of the lighting.
Result: a red veil is visible in the polar finder, and we see the reticle appear, without the stars being masked.
